Back to Top 4. What quantity and quality of fuel will I need to supply my boiler?

Our Econoburn™ wood boilers use substantially less wood to produce high volumes of hot water than conventionally built furnaces. The boiler can effectively burn any type of precut cord wood, scrap lumber, or other pieces of a minimum size, even fresh cut green wood. An average wood moisture content between 13% - 22% will yield optimum performance.

Back to Top 5. Which model will provide sufficient heat for my application?

The suggested models below are based on a well insulated home. Other factors to consider are quality, size and number of windows, R-Value of insulation in wall and ceilings, storm doors, single story or double story home, and geographical region (i.e. cold climate such as New York, Michigan, Canada, or semi warm climate such as Virginia, Tennessee).

If your residence is poorly insulated or has old single pane windows, it is recommended that the next larger model boiler be purchased.

Recommended Wood Boiler Model

We highly advise that a comprehensive heat-loss calculation be conducted by a qualified heating contractor to determine proper boiler sizing.

To give you an approximate size of the Econoburn™ boiler required, look to the BTU rating of your existing heating appliance. This will provide a good benchmark regarding boiler size.
