Outdoor wood burners are moving forward in emission reduction. Aqua-Therm Releases it's much Anticipated Eco-One Dave Laursen, CEO, Aqua-Therm, announced Tuesday, July 30, 2007 that they have seen significant results from their testing at an accedited lab and are sending the Eco-One off for testing it to the EPA protocol test. "It will still be awhile before we have all the tests complete but we are very confident, so much so that we'll be marketing it all summer as a reduced emission model with great confidence in its performance." The Eco-One is based on the same platform as the original Aqua-Therm, in production since 1983.
"The outdoor wood boiler industry is making significant strides in emission reductions and Aqua-Therm is proud of the role they played in the development of standards, working with the industry's caucus group, a member of the HPBA, and in its work with government agencies like EPA". "Aqua-Therm was one of the first to join the voluntary emissions reduction program". Laursen further noted the tremendous efforts and contributions that Bill Wright, Aqua-Therm's Vice President of Engineering, made working with the HPBA and EPA.
"The breakthrough technology developed for the new Aqua-Therm Eco-One outdoor wood burner reduces emissions without sacrificing Btu output. In many cases said Laursen, the new Aqua-Therm Eco-One model 275 will deliver higher Btu output with the equal amount of total available Btu's when compared to the original Aqua-Therm model 275" said Laursen.
Aqua-Therm announced on Thursday, May 11th, that they have entered into an agreement with Verner Boilers. Verner is one of the worlds largest and most respected biomass boilers in the world. President/CEO Dave Laursen stated that the biomass boilers will be capable of burning corn, grain, wood pellets, and other biomass materials. "We are extremely excited with this new relationship between two great company's and the opportunity it allows for Aqua-Therm to introduce the first true biomass boiler".
There will be two sizes of boilers. The Aqua-Therm CB80 (80,000 btu's) and the Aqua-Therm CB150 (150,000 btu's).
Laursen stated that the shipments will begin arriving in mid June. "Our first goal is to get everything in
place, from logistics to training, and be able to supply our customer base". We have had units operating in the United States for the entire 2006-2007 heating season and they performed
as advertised.
